You should never send your personal information over the internet to anyone. Also, always monitor your credit report so you can make sure nothing out of the oridnary is going on.
Unencrypted Laptops and Removable Media is usually unsecured and if lost, it instantly becomes vulnerable to others to steal personal information stored inside.
People who do a lot of traveling and live off their laptops/portable media are at risk of losing it. Flashdrivees, for example, are made smaller every time and if lost, a sea of information is lost with it. This information can include personal numbers and data, that in turn can lead to identity theft.
Securing ones laptop to its fullest capabilities should help. Also, if one tries to avoid entering personal, sensitive, & important data on small, vulnerable devices.. then if and when it gets lost, they don't "lose too much".

The ones I saw related to identity theft were: Excessive User Rights and Unauthorized Devices, Phishing/Spear Phishing and Unencrypted Laptops and Removable Media. Identity theft is a huge problem, but you can protect yourself by being careful about where and to who you give out your credit card number or personal information. Also, making sure the internet site is valid AND secure.

I for on is A victim of identity theft. i have been for almost 13 years.i had my identity stolen when i was on 11 years of age. and was unaware until my late teens one way that i have slowed and tried to prvent this process is by not buying things on the internet i know it sounds crazy but i guess im scared to buy from there othere then that i can say it takes a lot to get out of and still to this day im working passed it
